The Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa International School (HCBIS) officially inaugurated the 2026 Academic Year on 27 February 2026 with a dignified ceremony held on campus, in an atmosphere marked by enthusiasm, pride and a commitment to educational excellence.
The event was attended by the School Director, Dr. Raisi Dominic, members of the Leadership Team, the Representative of the Board of Directors of Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa, Dr. Luís Canhemba, the Government Representative, Dr. Paula Fernando, officials from the District Education Services, teachers, parents and guardians — reflecting the unity and collective support behind the HCBIS educational mission.
This year is particularly significant as it consolidates the implementation of the Cambridge International Curriculum. HCBIS now offers two pathways — National and International (Cambridge) — expanding opportunities and preparing students for a globalised world. On 16 February, the school also held a ceremony dedicated exclusively to the Cambridge programme.
With this inauguration, HCBIS reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, pedagogical innovation and the holistic development of every learner, aligned with national standards and the highest international benchmarks.
At HCBIS, each new academic year is more than a beginning – it is a renewed promise to nurture leaders, inspire ambition and shape the future.
